FAQ - Frequently asked questions

SHAPE CODE® Protein Shake

When is it best to use SHAPE CODE® Protein Shake? Before or after training?

Since SHAPE CODE® Protein Shake is based on whey protein: WPC, WPI and WPH, it is characterized by very fast absorption. For this reason, it is recommended for use primarily immediately after training - up to 2 hours. This is when our muscles are especially in need of nutrients to start the processes of recovery and muscle tissue growth. It's also a good idea to use it between meals and after waking up (e.g. on non-workout days) as a valuable supplement to a diet with easily assimilable protein.

Can I add Best Flavours sachets to SHAPE CODE® Protein Shake?

You can add your favourite Best Flavours sachets to SHAPE CODE® Protein Shake. Your shake can taste every day differently, not just vanilla!  Choose from: mint, salted caramel, strawberries with cream, blueberries and coffee. For your convenience the coffee and salted caramel flavours now also come in large, 100 gram bags, so you can choose your favourite flavour for longer and dose it more freely according to your taste preferences.

Does SHAPE CODE® Protein Shake contain artificial colourants, preservatives, flavours and other artificial ingredients?

SHAPE CODE® Protein Shake DOES NOT CONTAIN preservatives, artificial colourants, sweeteners, flavours, artificial fillers and IS GMO FREE - the raw materials used to develop the supplement ARE NOT DERIVED from genetically modified plants or animals fed with genetically modified feed.

Does the shake contain gluten and lactose?

SHAPE CODE® Protein Shake is gluten and lactose free*.

35 g of powder dissolved in 200 ml of water contains <0,01 g of lactose per 100 ml of the product.

Can SHAPE CODE® Protein Shake be fed to children?

SHAPE CODE® Protein Shake is not recommended for anyone under 18 years of age.

When not to use SHAPE CODE® Protein Shake?

Do not use the SHAPE CODE® Protein Shake food supplement if you are allergic to any product ingredient. In the case of chronic diseases and taking any medications, consult your doctor before using the product. The SHAPE CODE ® Slim Shake dietary supplement is not intended for use by pregnant and breast-feeding women and is not recommended for persons under the age of 18.

The product should not be used in people with liver or kidney disease or coagulation disorders.

Can pregnant or breastfeeding women use SHAPE CODE® Protein Shake?

The SHAPE CODE® Protein Shake dietary supplement is not intended for use by pregnant and breastfeeding women.

What is the powder best mixed with?

Technologically, SHAPE CODE® Protein Shake has been prepared in such a way, that it combines easily with both water and vegetable drinks, and this is the way we recommend it. However, the shake will also mix perfectly with milk (including lactose-free milk).

Why can't I mix SHAPE CODE® Protein Shake with plain milk?

There is no contraindication for mixing SHAPE CODE® Protein Shake with milk. However, you then have to reckon with providing a portion of lactose in your shake, which is based on lactose-free proteins. If you want your shake to be fully lactose-free, we recommend mixing SHAPE CODE® Protein Shake with water, vegetable drink or lactose-free milk.

How to prepare SHAPE CODE® Protein Shake?

Add two flat scoops of the powder (35 g in total) to 200 ml of cool water or your favourite plant drink, and shake vigorously to prevent the contents from settling to the bottom. Take this vanilla and cream shake 1-2 times a day. It is recommended to use the product immediately after training.

How long to use SHAPE CODE® Protein Shake?

SHAPE CODE® Protein Shake can be used practically every day throughout the year. However, it is worth remembering that both the excess and deficiency of protein in the diet can have negative effects on our body. In order to observe the beneficial effects of the WATTS'UP®* formula on muscle strength and exercise performance, regular use over a period of at least 4 weeks is recommended.

How much of SHAPE CODE® Protein Shake to use? Can I use a higher dose than recommended?

The recommended daily dose of SHAPE CODE® Protein Shake is 1-2 shakes per day. However the amount of protein (and thus the SHAPE CODE® Protein Shake) should be adjusted individually, taking into account factors such as your daily requirements for this macronutrient, the amount of protein you consume with food that day and the level of physical activity that day. Remember also that 2 shakes contain a daily dose of WATTS'UP®* formula used in clinical trials and documented to have a significant beneficial effect on performance during exercise.

Should I use SHAPE CODE® Protein Shake only on workout days or every day?

The protein shake should be used daily. Protein, just like on workout days, is also important on non-workout days, as this is the period when the body recovers after exercise.

It should be remembered that the protein requirements of a person leading an active lifestyle, who regularly practices sports, are higher than those of a person who does not train. A properly tailored diet is obviously a must, but it is worth enriching it with a protein shake, which will help to fully cover the need for proteins.

I don't do sports, can I use SHAPE CODE® Protein Shake and what is the best time of day?

Of course, especially if you're treating a protein shake as a supplement to your daily diet containing valuable protein. Keep in mind that our body needs protein not only on workout days, and protein is not only for muscles. This means that getting enough protein is very important both when you exercise on a given day and when you don't train at all.

Proteins build each of our body cells and are responsible for their proper functioning. Therefore, an adequate intake of protein, both in terms of quantity and quality, is essential for human health.

If you are not physically active, a protein shake after waking up and between meals will be a good option.

Czym jest odżywka białkowa?

Białko to jeden z trzech podstawowych makroskładników (obok tłuszczy i węglowodanów).

W przypadku SHAPE CODE® Protein Shake 35-gramowa porcja dostarcza ponad 24 g białka.

What is WATTS'UP®*?

WATTS'UP®* is a proprietary formulation of the all-natural Citrus sinensis sweet orange fruit extract standardized for hesperidin in its most active conformation. It is produced from sweet orange fruit in a proprietary gentle extraction process without any auxiliary substances. The formula is clinically proven to show positive effects on exercise performance in moderately trained individuals, increasing anaerobic and aerobic performance of the body.

Importantly, regular use of the formula for 4-8 weeks promotes better performance during exercise, even if the formula itself is taken after a workout. This creates an ideal opportunity to synergistically combine both protein and an active ingredient to support power and performance during exercise in a single shake taken post-workout.

The daily dose of WATTS'UP®* formula used in clinical trials (400 mg) is contained in 2 portions (70 g) of SHAPE CODE® Protein Shake.

Clinical trial results documenting the beneficial effects of a 400 mg portion of WATTS'UP®* were published in 2021.

Why is Palatinose™ added to SHAPE CODE® Protein Shake?

Palatinose™ is a naturally-derived carbohydrate often referred to as a "smart" carbohydrate that delivers energy in a more sustainable way compared to other sweeteners due to its extremely low glycaemic index.

Palatinose™ occurs naturally in honey and cane sugar and has a slower energy release compared to sucrose. Palatinose™ is digested much more slowly (than sucrose or maltose) by small intestinal enzymes, and due to its slow but complete release in the intestine, it fully provides carbohydrate energy (4 kcal/g) in a more balanced way and for a longer period of time. This notwithstanding, it provides the same amount of carbohydrate energy as sucrose.

Clinical studies suggest that Palatinose™ also promotes optimal fat release from tissues, may support exercise performance and also supports optimal blood glucose levels.

What additional ingredients are in the SHAPE CODE® Protein Shake?

In addition to three types of lactose-free whey protein (WPC, WPI, WPH), SHAPE CODE® Protein Shake also contains two clinically proven ingredients - Palatinose™ and WATTS'UP®*. It also contains natural flavours - cream and vanilla - and stevia, a natural sweetener. Additional ingredients, including those with clinically documented effects, are a very important, unparalleled differentiator of SHAPE CODE® Protein Shake.

Why does SHAPE CODE® Protein Shake not use the vegan version of protein?

Only proteins which have the optimal amount and proportions of all essential amino acids can be fully used to form body proteins. Proteins from plants, such as those found in legumes, cereals and nuts, belong to the group of incomplete proteins, as they do not contain all essential amino acids, or only a small amount. Only soy protein can compete with animal protein, because it exceptionally contains all essential amino acids, including lysine, methionine and tryptophan, but it has a slightly lower quality and is less assimilable.

Whey protein used in SHAPE CODE® Protein Shake contains a set of amino acids needed for proper functioning of the body

Why are there 3 types of proteins in SHAPE CODE® Protein Shake?

The combination of three types of whey proteins (WPC, WPI, WPH) in one supplement allows you to use it practically at any time of the day, although the most beneficial time to take it is after training. Due to the different times of digestion and absorption of individual types of whey proteins, we ensure a continuous supply of amino acids, which supports the process of regeneration, protection of muscle tissue against breakdown and immune function. That's why SHAPE CODE® Protein Shake is suitable for both professional and recreational athletes.

What types of proteins can I find in SHAPE CODE® Protein Shake?

SHAPE CODE® Protein Shake contains all 3 types of whey protein: concentrate, isolate and hydrolysate. All in lactose-free form.

Which type of whey protein is best: concentrate, isolate or hydrolysate? What is the difference between these forms of protein?

There are three main types of whey protein powders: concentrate (WPC), isolate (WPI) and hydrolysate (WPH). They are complete proteins containing essential amino acids, easily digestible and rapidly absorbed.

Whey protein concentrate (WPC), whose digestion begins about an hour after ingestion and takes about another two hours. It contains up to 80% protein by weight. Concentrates work best for those who do amateur training or are just beginning their journey with protein supplements.

Whey protein isolate (WPI), whose digestion begins about an hour after ingestion, but absorption time is about half that of WPC. The amount of protein reaches up to 95%, which makes the isolate contain even more essential amino acids in relation to the concentrate.

Whey protein hydrolysate (WPH), the digestion of which starts practically immediately after consumption and lasts only one hour. Because it has already undergone partial hydrolysis (a process necessary for the body to absorb protein) it does not require as intensive digestion as WPC and WPI. The WPH whey protein is best absorbed and its content in the pure product is 100%. It is especially recommended for people building muscle mass and reducing fat to a very low level.

How much protein should you provide to build muscle mass?

Athletes, and those who train hard, should make sure that protein is an important nutrient throughout the day. It is worth remembering that every meal should contain protein (either from food or from a supplement). This means that, depending on body weight and the form of such a meal, an athlete should provide his body with at least 2 g of protein per 1 kg of lean body mass. However, for every exerciser, the need for protein will be slightly different. It depends on a plethora of factors such as gender, age, height, weight, frequency of exercise and training goal. It is advisable to establish the exact macronutrient requirements in advance with your dietician or trainer. It is also important to remember that even in people who participate in sports only recreationally, the need for protein is higher than in physically inactive people.

How much protein should we provide?

There is no universal answer to this question. For every exerciser, protein requirements will be slightly different. It depends on many factors such as gender, age, height, weight, frequency of exercise and training goal.

The recommended daily allowance (RDA) for protein in adult man or woman with negligible extra physical activity is 0.9 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight. This amount is determined on the basis of nitrogen balance and constitutes a physiological norm to meet the basic nutritional needs (for this ingredient). This is the minimum amount needed to avoid falling sick due to protein deficiency. As the level of physical activity increases, the body's demand for protein increases.
How much protein should we provide?

Who is nutrient supplement intended for?

Protein supplements are especially recommended as supportive supplements for people who, for various reasons, do not provide their bodies with the required amount of protein in their daily diet (with meals) and for people who do strength and body building sports, as well as endurance and speed disciplines, both competitively and recreationally. They also address the needs of people wishing to maintain a healthy body weight, overweight people - providing adequate amounts of protein promotes fat burning (improves metabolism) while maintaining the so-called dry muscle tissue. They will also be useful for people after muscle and bone injuries, as well as those who, for various reasons, have been recommended to follow a high-protein diet.

Why incorporate a protein supplement into my daily diet if I'm eating right?

Protein supplements are ideal for active people who need to consume a lot of protein, yet don't have time to prepare a full meal or are unable to eat it. Of course, it is only an addition to the diet and should not be used in excessive amounts.

Why use a protein supplement?

The main role of protein supplements is to supplement the diet with missing proteins, which we are not able to provide from meals alone.

Each of us, regardless of our level of physical activity, must consume adequate amounts of protein. The growth and development of the tissues of our body takes place through the supply of amino acids that are contained in protein. In addition, the protein is involved in the formation of important biological molecules - hormones and DNA.

It should be remembered that protein satisfies hunger much better than carbohydrates, because it speeds up metabolism, is digested for a long time and activates various biochemical processes. So it is worth consuming protein not only when building muscle mass, but also when losing weight.

An adequate daily supply of protein gives us, above all, more strength and increased muscle mass (however, in this case proper training and a balanced diet are extremely important), as well as accelerated metabolism and better regeneration.
