Foam formation depends on the surfactant used. Day and night toothpastes contain a surfactant, which is a natural, mild and stable bio-agent that forms the delicate, stable foam.
No. The refreshing effect of DuoLife toothpastes derive not only from the content of cooling menthol. Valuable herbal extracts present in both products help keep gums and oral mucosa in optimal condition day and night. As a result, they contribute to long-lasting inhibition of development of halitosis – a bad odour from the mouth.
It doesn't have the snow white colour as the valuable calcium hydroxyapatite contained in the DuoLife Day toothpaste gives it a characteristic pearly colour. Calcium hydroxyapatite is a natural ingredient - it builds into the enamel and seals micro-cavities. In addition, it provides intensive whitening and reduces tooth sensitivity.
The day toothpaste also contains an extract from Hamamelis virginiana and goji berries which have a characteristic amber colour.
No. The charcoal used for production of DuoLife Night toothpaste is not activated charcoal.
Activated charcoal is manufactured in a production process that includes drying, carbonisation and activation through physical or chemical transformations of various raw materials, i.e. charcoal, brown coal, peat, nutshells or mentioned bamboo in the form of dust.
During the day, because of frequent eating meals and drinking beverages such as coffee or tea, teeth and gums, as well as oral mucosa are exposed to a number of factors that may contribute to the caries formation, dental plaque formation and development of inflammation in the mouth. Pasta DuoLife Day perfectly copes with such challenges. When not eating meals at night, the conditions in the mouth are favourable for the regeneration of damaged tissues, and the active ingredients of DuoLife Night toothpaste have a chance to remain in the place of action for longer. That's why DuoLife has developed two separate toothpastes to ensure optimal oral care, adequate to the time of day, and to meet the various needs of our teeth and gums day and night.
Yes. Liquid enamel was used in DuoLife Beauty Care toothpastes, which becomes embedded in the tooth structure, adding subsequent layers of enamel and accelerating remineralisation, which gives the effect of white teeth. Patented volcanic glass (pearliterlite) and rice flour replaced silica that often can be found in toothpastes. Its gentle abrasive action ensures effective cleaning of the teeth, and the optimum shape and size of grains allow their efficient brightening without the risk of damaging the enamel.Volcanic glass levels surface irregularities, and strengthens the effect of brightening the dental plaque.
The abrasive action is rubbing action; the more abrasive the toothpaste ingredient, the more it rubs the tooth surface, while damaging the enamel. The effect is reduced tooth resistance to caries. The active ingredients of DuoLife toothpastes feature the favourable, low abrasion..
The biomimetic component reflects the functioning of nature; Calcium hydroxyapatite contained in DuoLife toothpastes is a biomimetic mineral that is the building material of human enamel and bones, so it is able to build into the enamel and seal micro-cavities. Hydroxyapatite contained in the toothpastes is the reflection of hydroxyapatite present in the teeth and bones.
Currently, the ISO 16128 standard is a reliable and international way to determine the naturalness of cosmetic products. It defines ingredients of natural origin and introduces so-called product naturalness index, which is the percentage of natural ingredients in the cosmetic. DuoLife products feature a very high naturalness index, and their compositions are based on natural, certified ingredients. Volcanic glass (perlite) contained in the toothpastes is a material with a 100% naturalness index, certified by ECOCERT.
ECOCERT is a sign of quality and trust; it is an institution issuing certificates that meet stringent requirements for raw materials approved for use in natural and organic cosmetics.
No. The delicate abrasive (rubbing) action of the toothpaste ingredients ensures effective cleaning of teeth, and the optimal shape and size of grain composition allows for effective brightening without risk of damage and scratches to the enamel.
A pea-size grain is sufficient.
The teeth should be brushed thoroughly for 2-3 minutes.
It is an individual case, depending on the condition of teeth. However, you should remember that in order to achieve the best and lasting whitening effect, you should avoid smoking and drink beverages such as coffee, tea or juice in a limited amount or with a straw.
Yes. Active ingredients of the toothpaste help to soothe irritations and keep the gums in a good condition.
No. Periodontosis is a periodontal disease and requires treatment and specialist oral care.
The toothpastes can be used by children over 12 years old.
Stevia and xylitol are natural sweeteners which give toothpastes a light taste and make brushing your teeth with DuoLife toothpastes a pleasure. In addition, xylitol which helps to protect the teeth from caries, favours mineralisation and supports nutritional and buffering properties of saliva.
Silica is a pure silicon oxide (SiO2), and its grain size in ‘supermarket’ toothpastes may cause excessive abrasion of tooth enamel. Moreover, most of the silica materials used in the toothpastes are synthetic, although silica may also be natural. Actually, this material is pleasant in application, but it significantly contributes to damaging the enamel structure.
Pearlite in turn is a transformed magma rock, and in terms of chemistry - hydrated, acidous, sodium-potassium aluminosilicate. It contains silicon calculated as oxides, which means that as a natural mineral it may contain up to 72% silicon. At the same time, among others due to differences in the chemical composition, pearlite properties are completely different from silicon properties. In other words, despite the content of silicon, it is a completely different substance. It should be mentioned that pearlite is a 100% natural material, EcoCert certified. Its gentle abrasive action ensures effective cleaning of the teeth, and optimum shape and size of grains allow their efficient brightening without the risk of damaging the enamel. Pearlite also levels surface irregularities, and strengthens the effect of brightening the dental plaque.
What’s most important, silica and pearlite are different in terms of their mechanism of operation. Silica may damage the layer protecting the dentin, which favours discolourations, new cavities and caries, whereas pearlite ensures effective cleaning without the risk of damaging the enamel.
When using the term ‘acid-base homeostasis’ in discussing the impact of foods and drinks on the teeth condition, we should consider the issue of pH.
The condition of enamel is negatively affected when oral cavity pH changes from neutral to acidous. Correct oral cavity pH is neutral and it is between 6-7. Consumption of acidous foods and drinks causes changes in the scale towards acidous pH value (2-4), which leads to gradual dissolution of enamel and dental caries. This is why it is so important to change the pH value to neutral after consuming foods that cause a drop in pH. In order to do it effectively, first you should brush your teeth thoroughly, for which DuoLife Day & Night Beauty Care toothpastes are perfect; depending on the time of the day, they can be adjusted to the current needs.
Abrasion - wear of hard tissues of the tooth: enamel and dentin, caused by external factors, determined with RDA (Radioactive Dentine Abrasion) and REA (Radioactive Enamel Abrasion) indexes. Toothpastes with high RDA and REA indexes may have a destructive impact on the enamel and dentin, and consequently unveiling of dental necks, which is the main factor of pathogenesis, teeth hypersensitivity. High abrasiveness of the toothpaste, in combination with incorrectly selected toothbrush and incorrect brushing technique is a straight path to dental cavities. Common and incorrect belief that the higher abrasive action, the better cleaning is very harmful, and highly abrasive toothpastes are not recommended in daily care, which is confirmed by tests.

Fluorine is an element of natural origin. Apart from many minerals, it is also present in water resources - mainly in rivers and lakes. For years, fluorine has been associated with toothpaste, as an ingredient preventing teeth from cavities, protecting from demineralisation, recommended by dentists. Unfortunately, using toothpaste with fluorine may lead to its overdosing.
Too frequent use of toothpaste containing fluorine may lead to tooth fluorosis, which is demonstrated by white streaks or dots on the tooth enamel. Additionally, these toothpastes are dangerous for children, who sometimes swallow the toothpaste, which leads to fluorine accumulation in the body. Too much content of this element in human body causes skeletal fluorosis. The disease symptoms are pains of bones and joints, which are additionally exposed to damage. Bones become less flexible and the mobility of joints is reduced.
Overdosing fluorine also leads to thyroid diseases. Its impact on the thyroid glands may cause hyperthyroidism. Women who are pregnant should pay special attention to the fluorine content in toothpaste. Too much dosage may lead to subsequent neurological problems in children. Moreover, fluorine intensifies dermal problems such as acne. It may also exacerbate heart problems.
Acceptable fluorine consumption is 34 mg/day. It is present in drinking water and in food products. Using toothpaste with fluorine may lead to its overdosing, and consequently to serious health problems.
