High content of soluble dietary fiber

There are two groups of dietary fiber: soluble and insoluble, with slightly different physiological functions. Soluble fiber consists mainly of pectins, gums, plant mucilages, some hemicelluloses, beta-glucans and other water-soluble compounds.

Soluble fiber:

• absorbs water in the intestines and increases the weight and size of stool;
• slows down the passage of food;
• provides nutrients for healthy gut microbiota and stimulates the development of intestinal microflora (prebiotic effect);
• increases the feeling of satiety, helps to maintain a healthy body weight, and promotes weight loss;
• helps to maintain normal blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels and supports vascular function and optimal blood pressure; Properties promoting optimal cardiovascular health are mainly demonstrated by the soluble fiber fraction;

Insoluble fiber includes mainly cellulose and lignins. Its primary function is to support the peristalsis of the digestive tract and increase the weight and size of stool.

Four sources of soluble dietary fiber

DuoLife Fiber Powder is a 100% natural formula based on a very high content of soluble, branded dietary fiber: 5NUTRIOSE®, SUNFIBER® i INAVEA™ BAOBAB ACACIA, and a proprietary Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast formula – IMMUNEL™, standardised to provide 60% nucleotides, supporting healthy immune and digestive system.

Clinical studies on ingredients

The ingredients used in the product have been subjected to numerous, documented clinical studies.

Proprietary NUTRIOSE formula®

Unlike cereal fibers, the NUTRIOSE® corn fiber is non-allergenic. Its microgranulated form makes it very stable and soluble, which is why it can also be added to hot dishes, such as soups. Scientific reports show the health-promoting PREBIOTIC effects on the functioning of the digestive tract and a positive effect on the functioning of the circulatory system. Clinical studies conducted for NUTRIOSE® (conference reports) have also indicated supportive effects on metabolic processes and maintenance of healthy body weight. Seventy-five percent of corn fiber undergoes slow fermentation in the large intestine (gentle on the intestines). Moreover, it is not digested by the bacteria present in the mouth and does not promote caries. The formula has a low glycemic index and is in low calories (2 kcal/g).

Proprietary SUNFIBER formula®

SUNFIBER® is an organic, partially hydrolysed gum from Indian guar beans based on galactomannans. However, it is not identical to the commonly used guar gum. Unlike conventional guar gum, it has a lower molecular weight (20-50 kDa versus 300-8000 kDa for non-hydrolysed gum) and thus a much lower viscosity (2000 times lower), which enables the preparation of an easy-to-eat formula, which is safe even when consumed large portions. In addition, unlike guar gum, it is obtained by mild enzymatic hydrolysis at low temperature (37°C) exclusively from the endosperm of seeds. SUNFIBER® promotes optimal gastrointestinal function, healthy body weight7-11, the growth of good gut microbiota of the genus Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus , and the production of short-chain fatty acids in the large intestine (the so-called postbiotics). As a result, it supports the functioning of the intenstines, the immune and nervous system. The serving of SUNFIBER® contained in 1–2 sachets of DuoLife Fiber Powder is the recommended amount to maintain the health-promoting effects of the ingredient..

Proprietary INAVEA™ BAOBAB ACACIA formula

INAVEA™ is a synergistic, fully organic branded blend of 2 sources of soluble dietary fiber from African plants: Seyal acacia and baobab. A serving of 5 g/day of INAVEA™ (contained in 2 sachets of DuoLife Fiber Powder) shows a documented PREBIOTIC effect, promoting the growth of good gut microbiota, in particular Bifidobacterium. Additionally, INAVEA™ supports metabolic functions and helps the body to fight inflammation in the gut.

Proprietary IMMUNEL formula™

Nucleotides contained in IMMUNEL™ are a source of important signalling and precursor molecules in the body, and can be reused to build new nucleic acid molecules contained in cell nuclei. They are a very important, though still underestimated, component of a low-processed diet, necessary for proper functioning of the immune and digestive systems. Nucleotides from the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae can promote the regeneration of damaged cells and tissues of the digestive tract, supporting the body's non-specific immunity and the so-called intestinal barrier. The recommended daily serving of IMMUNEL™ ( 300 mg) is contained in 2 sachets of DuoLife Fiber Powder.

LOW FODMAP approved

The LOW FODMAP diet is low in short-chain, poorly absorbed, and rapidly fermentable carbohydrates with high osmotic pressure (such as lactose, fructose, and polyols). As a result, it helps to maintain optimal condition of the digestive tract and reduces bloating and intestinal discomfort, especially in people with irritable bowel syndrome or lactose intolerance.

The fiber-based formulas contained in the product, particularly SUNFIBER®, are suitable for people on the LOW FODMAP diet, as they undergo slow fermentation process and are gentle on the intestines. The products of fiber fermentation are slowly released over time, so using SUNFIBER® helps to minimize the flatulence and bloating associated with excessively fast intestinal fermentation (Figure 1).
